Walking and cycling short journeys, for work or other everyday journeys, is one of the best ways to get regularly moving more; active travel improves physical and mental well-being and has benefits for our environment and economy.
Evidence from Public Health England suggest that if walking and cycling can be increased, they have the potential to lead to important health gains at population level.
Our Active Travel Officer delivers a range of projects to support walking and cycling and advocates for creating environments which enable active travel as a normal part of daily life. We are passionate about using community engagement to understand local attitudes to active travel and co-develop realistic and sustainable solutions.
