Guernsey is a pleasant place to cycle. It has great scenery, lots of coastal and inland routes and the odd hill here and there. Cycling is a great way to keep fit and healthy, reduces motoring costs, helps contribute toward a cleaner environment and reduces traffic congestion.

Don't be put off by the traffic or because you feel out of practice; join a course for adults. The course will be tailored to your needs, making it suitable for complete beginners, people who would like to gain more confidence, or more experienced cyclists who want to improve their skills. Qualified Bikeability instructors can assist with Journey planning, road positioning and navigating junctions.

You will need: a roadworthy bike and helmet, and suitable footwear and clothing. Anyone that is interested is undertaking one of these courses is asked to email bikeability@gov.gg. Please find an application form below.

Read Sandra's story here. Sandra joined the scheme after having a stroke and has now been enjoying cycling around the island.
