With the Bailiwick back in lock down, it’s a great opportunity to make the most of the quiet roads
Our #GetOutThere and Walk This Way campaigns were devised with the aim of keeping people active as we dealt with the end of the first wave of COVID-19 and adjusted to a new normal. As we find ourselves back in lockdown we’d encourage people again to take advantage of the two-hour exercise time by building walking, cycling, swimming or other activities into our routines.
There are currently 16 Walk This Way signs around St Peter Port which show the distance, time and number of steps taken on short walks around St Peter Port and St Sampson.
All walks can be found on the interactive map.
Venues include Salerie Corner, Rouge Rue, Footes Lane and Val de Terres. We hope some of these walks inspire you to get out and when life is back to normal, to keep physical activity as part of your daily routine.
Watch out for our #GetOutThere on social media! Please share and like our posts and inspire others by sharing your experiences of adding a short walk to your day. And also look out for a series of new signs which will detail a variety of walks to and from the reservoir.
We're very grateful to the Co-op Helping Hands Fund which sponsored the signboards and Digimap who created the interactive map.
