The report showcases achievements across healthy nutrition, physical activity, healthier weight, substance use and Bailiwick Social Prescribing. A key milestone was securing sustainable funding for Bailiwick Social Prescribing, cementing its role as part of the Bailiwick’s preventative health system.
Other highlights from 2025 include:
- 301 referrals received by Bailiwick Social Prescribing.
- Strengthened early years nutrition and record participation in Eat Them to Defeat Them, with all 13 States primary schools taking part.
- More than 900 islanders contributing to the Clearing the Air consultation giving a strong mandate for the future of tobacco control.
- Continued development of local weight management services and work towards the introduction of a new Tier 3 Adult Weight Management Service alongside the Public Heath team
- Launching new physical activity initiatives, including Active Spectators and securing funding for the REACT programme for older adults
This report demonstrates another year of tangible progress improving health across Guernsey and Alderney. It reflects the value of prevention, collaboration and long-term investment in creating healthier communities.
Health improvement is about creating, environments and systems that make everyday healthier behaviours easier. The breadth of work delivered by our team in 2025 reflects the diversity of sectors who play a key part in shaping our health across government, healthcare, education, business, charities and community organisations. I am very grateful to our team as well as our funders, sponsors, and partners for their vital contribution to creating opportunities for healthier living across Guernsey and Alderney.
