We are excited to have launched a new project to explore islanders’ views on the range of factors that influence what we eat in Guernsey. The project will help us to better understand how our food system works and the factors that make is easy or a challenge to eat a nutritious diet. In the first part of the project, we are inviting adults who live in the Bailiwick to take part in focus groups to share their experiences on topics such as what’s sold in our shops, the cost of food and what’s promoted to options when eating out, time pressures, knowledge and more. Listening to the public’s views will help us to paint a local picture of how we experience our food system and potential ways that it could be improved to benefit our health. Taking part involves being part of a focus group, with 5-6 other people, which will last about an hour. Focus groups will take place in the new year and at community venues. If you are interested in volunteering to take part, or to find out more please email hello@healthimprovment.gg with your name and phone number. All data will be treated confidentially, used only for the agreed purpose and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 and the Health Improvement Commission’s Privacy Policy.
