We’ve put our heads together and come up with our 4 + 1 core messages that can help with eating well, and applying them to lunch boxes
For the past two years we have supported Early Year settings and Primary Schools to get involved with the national campaign, Veg Power with the sole aim of getting more children, eating more veg. Children are the heroes in the battle against the veg, hence, the tagline Eat Them To Defeat Them.
Focusing on a Veg of the Week for six weeks, the 2020 campaign is running a series of prime time adverts and 10 second ads on the Veg of the Week for the six weeks. This is supported by supermarket promotions, school projects, social media and print media work, all with the aim of engaging kids by giving veg a different spin.
Locally we've provided Veg Power kits to five schools and are working with fourteen Early Years settings giving them a free kit of children’s chopping knives and chopping boards alongside the campaign resources which give lots of ideas for activities related to the Veg of the Week. Local settings taking part are demonstrating their actions and contributing to the collective national movement of “defeating” the veg by posting on social media using @vegpoweruk #eathemtodefeatthem
