CDAT supports people aged 18 and over whose alcohol or drug use is causing significant harm and who require specialist medical, psychiatric or therapeutic intervention. The team works with individuals experiencing alcohol or drug dependence, withdrawal symptoms, or more complex treatment needs.
As part of Mental Health Services, CDAT provides comprehensive assessment and a range of evidence-based interventions, including:
Specialist drug and alcohol assessment
Therapeutic one-to-one support
Harm reduction interventions
Relapse prevention planning
Substitute prescribing for opioid dependence
Community and inpatient detoxification programmes
Risk assessment and management
Referral and coordination with other health and support services
CDAT works alongside community-based support providers to ensure people receive the level of care most appropriate to their needs.
Referrals are typically made through a GP or another healthcare or support professional.
