The Children and Young People's plan is a government document that sets out how we will continue to support children and families across our islands.

The plan sets out four priorities. We believe that all children and young people should have the highest possible standards of physical and emotional health and grow up in places and spaces that enable them to be healthy, active and thrive.

The Health Improvement Commission is the joint lead on the priority area for Healthy, Active and Thrive. Its focus is all children and young people should have the highest possible standards of physical and emotional health and grow up in places and spaces that enable them to be healthy, active and thrive. Children should lead active lives that promote their long-term health.

A wide range of objectives have been set and are constantly reviewed covering a range of health and wellbeing factors. Particular to activity is the objective.

Improve the nutrition and physical activity environments that children and young people live, play and learn in.
