Farm to Fork is a collaborative project with youth settings, first run during the Youth Commission’s summer Playscheme in 2023. The project delivers a number of short sessions, where children try new healthy foods, learn about where nutritious food comes from, shop for ingredients and learn how to cook simple recipes for each other.   

The aim of the project is to provide children with a fun and engaging way to try new foods and develop life skills around nutrition. It also aims to help children build healthy relationships with food and supports development of a ‘whole-setting approach’ to healthy eating.

Running over just 5 weeks, the project had a big impact on participating children at the Youth Commission’s 2023 summer Playscheme, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from children, parents and staff.
